Both auction houses did a great job this year, some amazing names are being auctioned today. One of my domains, Necklace.net, will be featured at Moniker’s extended auction but more on that tomorrow.

There are a lot of interesting names on the table, most of them have never been auctioned before (MeetingWomen.com, for example) and quite a few of them are priced to sell (a lot of people called me crazy for going with only $4,500 as the starting bid for MeetingWomen.com but I’m treating this auction as an experiment: even if you manage to practically steal it for less than $10,000 – $15,000, no hard feelings).

Alright then, no need to waste valuable time: put your bidding shoes on and make things happen!

MeetingWomen.com also comes with a free lifetime inclusion in the Yahoo! directory, the listing alone is worth $299/month (here’s a screenshot). It was accepted several years ago and got grandfathered in.

Armchair.net and Necklace.net represent great candidates for online stores. High priced items + HUGE search volume + aged exact match domain = … (I’ll let you guys fill in the blanks). If your site ends up on the first page, you’ll easily make your money back after the first month.

Getting there will not be a piece of cake though and that’s exactly why I’m selling them: I just don’t have enough time to make things happen. The domain name provides an extremely important boost in both cases but that doesn’t mean that you can just sit back and wait for results. If you think that having a great domain name is enough to make it to the first page, please don’t buy them. Seriously, do yourself a favor and just don’t (or better yet, refrain from buying domains with the intention of chasing after organic traffic altogether until you know enough about SEO in order to make informed purchases – a great domain names is NEVER enough in order to make it to the first page, there’s always work involved and it all depends on how competitive the term you’re targeting is).
