Google’s Response to Facebook’s “Like” Button

Posted on 30 March 2011 by BillionDollarMedia

Something extremely important is happening right now and as a person who earns a living online (domainer/webmaster/whatever), it’s in your best interest to stay on top of things: Google has launched “+1″, a feature similar to the FB “Like” button which is currently available for search results/AdWords listings and will soon be available for websites.

Did You Check Out DomainPeers.com?

Posted on 23 March 2011 by BillionDollarMedia

John from DNXpert.com recently launched DomainPeers.com, an interesting project IMO and I wish him all the best. The concept is simple: you submit an entry (a domain you want to develop or an existing site which needs a re-design) and if it is voted by enough people, the project will be featured on the homepage.

Facebook Comments on External Sites?

Posted on 02 March 2011 by BillionDollarMedia

Yep, it’s actually possible to post comments on external sites (WordPress blogs, for example) using your Facebook account. Still think the idea that Facebook will ultimately represent the platform through which most people interact with the Internet is crazy or unrealistic? Then head on over to TechCrunch by clicking here, see how they’ve implemented this system and let me know if you still think that Facebook is just another fad site like MySpace or Twitter ;)

Public Apology on DomainingTips.com from Reputation.com Over “Domain Squatter” Definition

Posted on 18 February 2011 by BillionDollarMedia

After I blogged about how Reputation.com called all domainers “squatters” through their definition, a reader (Christine) contacted them via live chat and received canned responses. This approached pissed me off, so I wrote another blog post and got the initial one to rank for their name. Today, Rob from Reputation.com did the right thing by apologizing on DomainingTips.com (he also sent me an email) and editing the previous definition.

Posted on 29 January 2011 by BillionDollarMedia

Two Reserve Bank of India guidelines will unfortunately make the lives of Indian PayPal users (these changes have been brought to my attention by an Indian domainer) a lot more difficult as of March 2011: on the one hand, they will no longer be allowed to keep a PayPal balance and on the other hand, they will no longer be allowed to accept over $500/transaction.

Time to Say Goodbye to the Old Google AdWords Keyword Tool

Posted on 25 September 2010 by BillionDollarMedia

Up until this point, even though the new GAKT version was live, Google gave you the option to use the previous one. As of today, the old tool is gone for good. The new one tends to display SIGNIFICANTLY lower keyword search volume numbers, which brings us to the question which is on everyone’s mind right now: which numbers are (more) accurate?
